Georges Burki, Founder
Georges started his career as classical concert violinist. In1993, he joined McKinsey in Zurich and Buenos Aires where he managed the integral reorganisation of one of the Big Swiss Bank’s private banking division. He then briefly joined Egon Zehnder International as Executive Search Consultant with a focus on financial services.
In 1998, Georges co-founded Swiss Capital Group, a Swiss alternative investments company and manager of various fund-of-hedge funds. He built the group’s distressed investments business acquiring and restructuring a series of Swiss mid-size industrial companies. In 2002, he spun-off his business line, and as sole owner successfully restructured and sold all portfolio companies by in 2007.
In 2009 Georges joined the Board of Reichmuth&Co, a Swiss Private Bank managing their own line of fund-of-hedge funds. In 2012, he founded Tradecap AG with the objective to develop and offer innovative and liquid alternative investment products. In 2013, he joined derivative.com, the first Swiss multi-issuer platform for structured products, as Chairman and investor. The company was sold in 2014 to Bank Vontobel.
Georges holds an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau (France) and an LLM from the University of Zurich.
Dr. Claus Huber
Claus started his career in 1994 trading government bonds at Bankgesellschaft Berlin. In 1996, he joined the University of Bremen (Germany) as research associate where he wrote his doctoral thesis about forecasting turning points in financial markets with econometric models. From 2000 to 2004, Claus worked as a Credit Strategist and Hedge Fund Analyst at Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt am Main. As Chief Risk Officer at Credaris Portfolio Management from 2004 on, he developed and implemented the risk management framework for a credit hedge fund.
In 2008, Claus joined Swiss Re as Head of Alternative Investment Risk Management where he built and integrated the risk management function for Hedge Funds, Private Equity and Real Estate into the Swiss Re risk management framework. This included stress tests and Value-at-Risk-models, concepts of valuation, hedging illiquid assets, building a managed account for a fixed income arbitrage hedge fund and examining the risk/return profile of hedge funds.
In 2010, Claus founded Rodex Risk Advisers (rodexrisk.com). The company has created and implemented various alternative trading and portfolio management algorithms applied in structured notes issued by Zurich Cantonal Bank. In addition, Claus is supplying institutional clients and familiy offices with risk management models and tools.
Claus holds a diploma in Economics of the University of Bamberg (Germany) and a doctorate degree from the University of Bremen. He is a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM), CEFA-Investment Analyst, CFA Charterholder and has published numerous papers on various topics in Finance (see list of publications).
